Please enjoy my collection of unique Australian landscape photography and seascape photography.   Each one of my photos is achieved from hours of patiently waiting for the exact moment to press the shutter and endless hours walking up and down the beach looking for the perfect scene.

The Nut Stanley

The Nut at Stanley is a fantastic site to behold and the whole town of Stanley is extremely picturesque in its own right.  Stanley is almost completely overshadowed by the Nut.   It is in the North West corner of Tasmania and very exposed to the Bass Strait.   The Nut itself is an old volcanic plug with sheer cliff faces on each side, though there is a track that you can walk up and a cable car that also leads up to the top.

The first day that I arrived at Stanley to see the Nut it was completely covered in mist and rain as it had been hit by one of the worst storms to approach Tasmania in years.   Now normally I will take a photo no matter what but the rain was coming in sideways so I was getting drenched even under cover.   This photo was taken two days later and looks like it was a perfect summers day.  It is just amazing how the weather can change so quickly and its one of the great challenges of Australian landscape photography.
