Please enjoy my collection of unique Australian landscape photography and seascape photography. Each one of my photos is achieved from hours of patiently waiting for the exact moment to press the shutter and endless hours walking up and down the beach looking for the perfect scene.
Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse
The Cape Leeuwin lighthouse sits on the most South Westerly tip of Australia. It is an impressive lighthouse which stands as a solitary sentinel for all shipping passing through the area. It was 100% manually operated until the early 1980s making it one of the very last lighthouses in the world to be manually operated. There is still a caretaker living on the property though he only looks after the heritage aspects of the property and not the actual lighthouse itself.
The Cape Leeuwin area is known for massive swell and the surroundings are stunning. If you’re into Australian landscape photography, this is a place is an absolute must to vist. From rolling green hills to rocky outcrops to long scenic and isolated beaches the Augusta / Margaret River has the lot.
If you happen to love wine and surfing as well then you’re in for a real treat as this region boats some of the best around. Make sure you look at the waterwheel just around the corner from the lighthouse.
