Bronte Pool
Hi Everyone,
This is Bronte Pool in Sydney. What a shock to the system it was to hit the hustle and bustle of Sydney after being in the remote North West of Tasmania for seven days! Its been a huge goal of mine to capture some of Sydney’s rock swimming pools and I think this was a great start.
Hopefully I’ll get back there soon for a week so that I can spend more than two days trying to capture the pools. What was really refreshing about shooting here was that everyone was so welcoming of me taking photos and no one was upset that I was there taking photos of them swimming in the pool. They were all actually really proud of the pool and suggesting the best angles for taking photos of Bronte Pool. Thanks guys I really appreciated it.
I hope you enjoy this photo.
Thanks,

Injidup Beach
Hi Everyone,
It really doesn’t get too much better than this. Walking around on a deserted beach like Injidup Beach is one of the great pleasures of being a landscape photographer. For a few moments you feel like you’re the only one on this Earth and that Mother Nature is putting on a show just for you.
I always feel very privileged when I get to experience moments like these ones.
Injidup Beach is a beach about 10mins south of the surfing town of Yallingup and its a great surf beach in its own right. If you are at ‘Inji’ on the right day you will see mother humpback whales allowing their calves to have a rest in the sheltered bay, whilst dolphins are splashing around and surfing in the waves. As I said sometimes it just doesn’t get much better than being able to chill out on this beach.
Thanks,
Jamie Paterson
Golden Sunset
Hi Everyone,
Can you believe this seascape photo of a golden sunset has been sitting on my computer for just over 18mths? I certainly can’t. It took me 20mins of driving down a track and another 10min walk to get to this place. I’m certainly glad I made the effort as it was just such an amazing place with lots of interesting rock formations and funky underwater ledges as you can see.
I must admit its been sitting on my computer as I never thought I had captured the place very well and it had been assigned to the depths of my computer to never be seen again. The other night it caught my eye and I just couldn’t stop looking at it and I’m glad I started to work on it. I hope you guys enjoy it as well.
Thanks,

Waimea Bay
Hi Everyone,
Waimea Bay would have to be one of my most favourite beaches to visit. On a nice day its just idyllic. The waves gently lap at the beach, there is plenty of space on the beach, the water is warm and of course the colour of the water is just amazing. On an epic day it has 20ft waves crashing through, throwing up some of the biggest surf in the world. Unfortunately, I’ve not been there on an epic day yet.
Getting to Waimea Bay is really easy as its literally a quick and easy 30min drive from Waikiki Beach and there is plenty see along the way. The pineapple plantations are along the highway and the diversion to Haleiwa to see all the surf shops and markets are well worth the trip as well.
This photo is a single image taken from my Canon 16-35 F/2.8mm lens using F13 ISO50, 1/60th sec.
I hope you enjoy it. I’d love to know your thoughts on the photo or of Waimea Bay.
Thanks,

Wyadup Wonders
Hi Everyone,
This is a photograph I managed to capture from Injidup Beach about six months ago. Initially this was a photo that I decided I was never going to work on because in the original photo there was lots of foam from the crashing waves collecting at the bottom of the image that just didn’t look right. The foam was annoying because I could see real potential in this seascape photo, now it really shows that sometimes we really get locked into a train of thought and its hard to break out of it. Why it took me six months to realise I should just crop out the foam I will never know, I guess I just wasn’t ready to see it.
I’ve said that Wyadup rocks which are at Injidup Beach hold a very special place in my heart for some reason and that still holds true. Every time I travel down there I am presented with something wonderful. The last time I was down at Injidup Beach I got to see a humpback whale and her calf in the shallows with a pod of dolphins playing around them, it was cute because the humpback calf was trying to chase them.
I used F13, ISO 50 with a 20 sec exposure on this shot. I also used a Singh Ray 3 stop GND filer. Is there anything else you’d like to know about the photograph or Injidup Beach?
Thanks,
Jamie Paterson
