Blackwall Reach
Hi Guys,
This is a shot that I managed to capture a few months ago. Its a place called Blackwall Reach and its part of the Swan River here in Perth though it is closer to Fremantle. Blackwall Reach is just back from Pt Walter which is an amazing sand spit that goes almost all the way across the Swan River.
This is such a nice place to relax in the warm evening sun in Summer, as boats are passing by and a nice gentle breeze nearly always starts to drift in to cool the place down.
Photographically its an interesting spot to capture because of all the boats that are moored near the river bank along with all the little dinghies that are placed along the foreshore. I hope you enjoy this photo.
Thanks,
Jamie Paterson

Cradle Mountain Plateau
This landscape photograph of Cradle Mountain was taken near the end of my hike up to Cradle Mountain via the Overland Track. Its actually taken from the small plateau in front of the mountain and from here you get an amazing view of the mountain and of Barn Bluff as well.
I was actually stunned in amazement when I saw both of these landmarks next to each other. If you look really closely at the photo you can see some people hanging around Kitchen Hut at the base of the mountain. I’d love to know if you can see the hut.
Thanks,

Hi Everyone,
I’m happy to say that this is the view from Marion’s Lookout at Cradle Mountain National Park. Why am I glad? Well as many of you have read its because it was an amazingly tough walk for me up to Marions Lookout.
I’m glad I did it though, I really felt like I was sitting on top of the world, one can only imagine what people feel like when they climb Mt Everest. Now if it looks cold its because it was really cold, something like -5 degrees and being a West Australian I’m just not used to those temperatures.
Would I do it again? You bet it was a huge challenge and so much fun! The little islands down in Dove Lake are called the Honeymoon Islands, as Gustav Weindorfer decided to all them that after rowing a newlywed couple out there.
I hope you enjoy the photo.
Thanks,

Mt Palmer Gold Mine
Making an old gold mine from the 1940s look good was never going to be easy but I think I managed to do it and hopefully you guys do as well. This was taken close to midday and all I wanted to do was jump in and cool off.
Unfortunately, there would be all sorts of chemicals inside the pool such as cyanide so swimming in there just wasn’t going to be an option. I had to be content with just staring at the awesome reflections instead. If you look really closely at the mine you can see the original shafts they worked in before they turned the gold mine into a pit.

Mt Palmer Truck
A classic Australian landscape photography image don’t you think? This truck was obviously left at Mt Palmer gold mine years ago and has just rotted away ever since. I love seeing stuff like this, it makes me wonder, what happened to the owner? Where are they now? What job did the truck do? I’d love to know.
Visiting old places like this are literally gold for me personally, I’m hoping I can find more of them.
Thanks,

Mt Palmer Gold
Recently, I decided to head out of town to a remote, isolated and deserted gold mine and town. It took five hours to get to but the drive was certainly worth it. There is nothing like sitting in the bush at night and seeing the amazing stars. Its times like these that I’m so grateful I’m an Australian landscape photographer. Who wants to work in a studio when you can work outside? If you look closely at the center of the photo you can see Emu tracks leading off into the horizon.
This trip has certainly peaked my interest in camping again and I can’t wait to get back out into the wilderness. Does anyone have any good camping tips when you are a photographer?
Thanks,
Jamie Paterson

Tasmanian Fields
Hi Everyone,
The great thing about Tasmania is that everything is green and there are plenty of clouds so its a landscape photographers dream. I was driving from The Nut at Stanley back to Cradle Mountain National Park when I saw these cows being lit up by the sun.
How could I not stop and get a photo of them? People must have thought I was crazy jumping out of the car and running across the road to capture a photo of some cows! I am heading back to Tasmania in about six weeks for my third trip there this year and I just can’t wait, though this time I will be spending most of my time on the East coast rather than the North West corner of Tasmania.
At least this on this trip I won’t be experiencing sub zero temperatures! To see a larger version of the photo just click on it.
Thanks,
Jamie Paterson
