Captain Fell’s Historic Ferries
Hi Everyone,
I wanted to share this photo because I absolutely love it. It has a real historical feel about it. I had spent the afternoon just walking around Hobart in Tasmania getting a ton of shots. Hobart has to be one of the most amazing cities in Australia, it is so full of character and on nearly every street there is something to shoot, particularly down on the wharves. Any way back to the story I was on my way back to the hotel when I saw this lonesome little ferry just sitting there by itself. Cute is not normally a word I would associate with a ferry but this ferry did look so cute.
Normally I’m not into sepia but it really seemed to suit this image so I went for it. I wish I had an extra day in Hobart, if I did I would’ve probably tried to have got a few closeups of this boat. If you are a landscape photographer Hobart is definitely a destination you should add to list of places to shoot. You won’t regret it. Have any of you been to Hobart? Or seen a ferry similar to this near you? I’d love to hear about it.
Thanks,

Australian Landscape Photography – Mirrorscape
I love reflections. I think looking at reflections makes you look inwards on yourself and reflect on what is going on inside your head. What do you guys think? I was very lucky with this photo, I saw that the sunset was going to be good and I only had a few minutes to get to this location from my house. Fortunately I made it and was able to bring this scene to you for your viewing as well.
This photo was taken near a busy road and it still amazes me how you can be only 250 metres away from a busy road and find serenity. The ducks were quacking, frogs croaking and it was like I was in the middle of the bush. Reminds you how lucky we all are to be alive.
Hope you enjoy this photo,
Thanks,

North Cottesloe Red Sunset
I’ve said it many times before but North Cottesloe is definitely one of my most favourite spots to shoot. Its just such an awesome place, the rocks make for great compositions. This photo was taken last summer and it was one of the first photos that I captured in this location. The sun started to glow an amazing red and then I saw the water on top of the flat rock start to glow red as well.
When I saw that, I knew it was time to get to work and start shooting. It was such a great sunset that after getting what I wanted I just sat down and watched the waves lap against the beach and felt the summer breeze blow through my hair. It doesn’t get much more relaxing than that.
I hope you guys enjoy this photo.

Feeling Of Contentment
I’ve always loved taking seascape photos but this time really was a magical moment for me. One that I’m glad I get to share with you guys. It had been a tough week and I just had a funny feeling that this particular evening would be a fantastic one. After walking up and down the beach I decided that this spot was the best spot to try and grab a photo. It was such an amazing moment, one minute I was standing in the sand, and the next moment I was knee deep in the freezing cold water just totally absorbed by the sunset and the water just flowing off the ledge. I really felt at one with Mother Nature.
When was the last time you felt really connected to Mother Nature? A moment that you felt all your cares slip away?
Thanks,

North Cottesloe Rock Pools
Hi Everyone,
I’ve just put this seascape photograph of North Cottesloe up on the site. Do you ever get one of those feelings when you just know that its going to be a stunning sunset and that you’d kick yourself if you didn’t get out to take a photo? This was one of those days. I looked outside and just had this gut feeling so I headed down to North Cottesloe to get some seascape photographs as I have to admit its my favourite form of photography.
There were heaps of people out at the beach just soaking up this unusually warm winter sunshine and it was good to see everyone enjoying themselves. It really did feel like a nice summer evening. I walked around the rocks for a little while and kept coming back to this spot as the rock pool was a really great subject to try and capture. I used a polarizer on this shot so that the camera could see through the water and I think it did a great job. What do you guys think? It also managed to take a lot of the harsh glare off the rocks.

Lancelin Sand Dunes
Hi Everyone,
I recently hit a little town just North of Perth called Lancelin. Its got some amazing sand dunes to photograph and as a landscape photographer I find myself up in Lancelin a couple of times a year. It takes about 1.5hrs to get there so its not too far and though you do need a four wheel drive to go deep into the dunes, you can get to the first lot of sand dunes with a normal car and then walk over to the first set of dunes quite easily.
This shot was taken at 9:30pm at night and because the moon was hidden behind clouds we had to use a number of different light sources, such as the cars lights and a couple of different torches as well. To see the large version of this photo just click on it.
I hope you enjoy this photograph as much as I enjoyed taking it.
Thank You,

Ningaloo Reef
Hi Everyone,
This is an aerial landscape photograph of Ningaloo Reef that I managed to capture while flying off Exmouth in Western Australia some months ago. I absolutely love this photo and keep coming back to it to look at it. I was lucky enough to travel to the region with an amazing photographer and artist, and both were kind enough to share their knowledge with me.
We jumped into a helicopter at Learmonth Airport and started to head out to the coast, we weren’t even 500ft up in the air when we saw Ningaloo Reef unfold in front of us. We were just stunned with the beauty of it and couldn’t wait to get there. Once we were overhead we all pulled out our cameras and started to go crazy as we only had two hours of the helicopters time. We managed to go down to Yardi Creek and up to Exmouth itself and boy did we fill up our memory cards!
If you ever get the chance to hop into a helicopter and get some landscape photographs don’t pass it up. Its an amazing way to take photographs and even better you don’t have to walk too far either!
